About LiveUQ

UQ St Lucia’s on-campus accommodation consists of 10 Residential Colleges that are home to over 3,000 students from Australia and overseas studying at Brisbane universities.

What is a Residential College?

Aside from the convenience of having every university facility and service only minutes away, there are other great advantages of living at a Residential College:

  • Fully catered accommodation

  • Supportive staff and secure premises

  • Academic tutorial programs and peer group support

  • Community service opportunities

  • Opportunities to form friendships and enhance your networks

  • Active sporting, cultural and social life

  • College scholarships, prizes and bursaries.

Life at a Residential College complements your university studies, not only academically, but also socially, culturally and in the sporting arena. Residential Colleges offer a real student experience.

The Colleges

Colleges offer you the opportunity to enhance your student experience through living a well-rounded university life:

  • Hone your academic skills.

  • Pursue your sporting and cultural interests — everything from athletics to water polo, chess to Choralfest, rowing to rugby…

  • Participate in inter-college activities

  • Try out something new in a supportive environment

  • Form lasting friendships

  • Build your professional network with students studying everything from medicine to music, economics to engineering.

  • Develop your leadership potential, and create change.

Once you become a resident of a College, you are part of that College community for life.

Red Frogs is a brilliant organisation that empowers young people in university residential colleges (and schools) to champion positive cultural change. Cromwell is a sponsor and regular donor to Red Frogs, who provide a proactive presence at Cromwell social events both on and off campus. Cromwell hosts and funds “all ages alcohol free events” each year open to the students of all ten UQ Colleges. Each year, Cromwell hosts a table at the Red Frogs Gala Dinner to provide financial support, and to expose our students across the year levels at Cromwell to the history and huge scope of work of Red Frogs. #redfrogs #redfrogsgala2019 #cromwellcollegeuq_official

Qld Reds player Jock Campbell (Kings 2014-15) was recently named Rookie of The Year.
Coach Brad Thorn commented on Jocks achievement...
At 24, it was good to see a man from club rugby and NRC with Queensland Country come into our program.
He was rewarded for his hard work when he made his Queensland debut against the Bulls in Pretoria.
Jock played the remaining nine games for us and grew in confidence each match. As a group, we congratulate Jock on this achievement.
